With the aim of finding a star of the future, the Junior Rallycross class allows drivers as young as 14 a chance to cut their teeth in a vibrant, exhilarating and fast motorsport discipline. Registered drivers aged from 14 to 17 compete in either a Ford Fiesta Zetec 1,250cc or any 1,000cc normally aspirated car.
The Fiesta Zetec class run to Technical regulations developed for the extremely popular circuit based championship and means that cars run to near standard to a tightly controlled set of regulations on Yokohama tyres. The Organisers match the performance of each model in the 1,000cc class by running different minimum weights ranging from just 620kg in a Mini all the way up to 730kg for a Peugeot 106.
