The Open Clubman class is new for 2022 and has been specifically formulated to encourage new competitors into the sport and to also cater for those competitors who may be stepping up from Fiesta Zetec or Junior Rallycross classes.

Modifications permitted are limited with many aspects of the car being limited to standard parts and specification. Engines are permitted up to 2000cc normally aspirated or up to 1650cc forced induction.

There are a huge number of modern cars at a reasonable price which fall into these categories with no modifications permitted to chassis, bodywork, engines, transmissions (no sequential or DSG allowed) and brakes, other than the addition of the required Motorsport Ireland safety equipment such as roll-cage, harnesses, extinguishers etc.

The Open Clubman class should enable any prospective rallycross competitor to take their first steps in the competitive but hugely entertaining sport of rallycross.
